Samantha needs...

My brother did this on his site, I thought I'd try it....

I googled "Samantha needs" This was some of the results (my comments are in parenthesis):

Samantha needs adoptive parents who are willing to meet her needs (I'll keep the ones I got thanks)

Samantha needs to develop material for a multi-media environment (that should be fun)

Samantha needs a professional painter (hmmm, what for?)

Samantha needs to learn to do this to save her own life, because it is
evident to me that she is getting more and more depleted (I am getting depleted, how'd they know)

Samantha needs a laptop (already got one)

Samantha needs lots of help and with that has come a loss of privacy (serious help)

He's just what Samantha needs to bring her out of the doldrums and make her
experience life again (who is HE???)

Samantha needs to cut the puppet strings that bind her in order to truly find herself (got scissors?)

Samantha needs a home (preferably a large one on a hill)

Samantha needs Nick to accompany her to Las Vegas, but she's handicapping him
because she won't give him details. (can I go without Nick please?)

Samantha Needs Your Help!

Samantha needs everyone to be very, very quiet at story time so that she can hear
the story. (shhhh!!)

Samantha needs to have an area set aside for her to rest when necessary. (YES I DO!!)

Samantha needs to just stand up and tell the guy that she CARES about him. Period. (I Care - so there!)

Samantha needs to eat at the best places (who's buyin?)

Samantha needs to unwind after her hard day at the office. (True)

Samantha needs the assistance of multiple medical machines. (????)

Samantha needs someone to talk to, she's worried about something (got time to listen?)

Samantha needs to GET OUT MORE. (Out of town that is....this should probably really say - Samantha needs to stay at home more!!)

(Now that was fun)

It's a birthday up in here!

Hey y'all it's Ms Thang on the other side of the board. Today is Lava's birthday and so I have decided to surprise her with a birthday shout out post.

So my birthday gift to her is to shower her with praises and love from her family and friends. Leave her a comment to wish her a happy birthday, and while your at it name your favorite quality about her and why. (Mama D aka Dana, your favorite quality can't be that she's your daughter lol).

My Favorite Quality: Her openess and willingness to be a true friend

When I met Lava right here on her website I would had never imagined what God had in store for us. Lava is the most giving, caring, compassionate, understanding friend I have ever met. She is always there encouraging me to keep going, praising me for a job well done, or being the sympathetic shoulder to cry on. If I ever need someone to talk to in the middle of the night I know that she is only a phone call away, and will be there for me in my hour of need.. always knowing the right things or prayers to say to comfort me in my time of need.

In a day in age where most people don't know how to truly stop and listen and be a true friend, she has never managed to loose that quality. She may be the busiest person I know, but she always has time for her friends (and family).

Lava, you are a gem! Thank you for being such a great and understanding friend! Happy Birthday Girl!

Thursday Discussion

Today at work we had a brief discussion (on break of course) about the Bible. Some of the people believe that when we die we will go to a waiting place, perhaps purgatory, others beleive we will go straight to heaven or straight to hell, and yet others believe there are different options - other waiting places, not necessarily purgatory but a holding place for your soul - awaiting jusgement. It was a really good discussion, interesting to hear other peoples opinions and beliefs.

Personally, IO have always believed that when you die that you go straight to heaven or hell, but after doing a little reading, I have to say that my belief has been put on hold and some more reading and research is necessary....The few verses below are the first I cam across that made me think deeper into this:

"No one has ascended into heaven but He who descended from heaven, the Son of man." (John 3:13 RSV)

"But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel's call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet The Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with The Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 RSV)

"Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom judgment was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they shall reign with him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:4-6 RSV)

"for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment." (John 5:28-29 RSV)

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel 12:2 RSV)

Anyway - To me this sounds like we may have to wait around till he comes, I'm gonna have to read up on this topic some more...and pray about it!!!

The thing is....

somebody once asked me what I wanted most out of life, I remember my answer was that I wanted to make a difference. I truly do, I want to make a difference in other peoples lives and I want to make a difference in this world. It doesn't have to be some amazing outrageous difference, just maybe someone knowing they were loved and that someone truly cared about them; perhaps giving someone a place to say or somthing to eat and helping them get on their feet; or perhaps doing sonthing great - finding a cure for a deadly disease or housing the homeless masses; or most importantly and extremely great would be heloing someone find truth and in the truth them finding eternal life - that would be awesome!!!
